Course Curriculum.

The syllabus of D.Ed. may vary from one university to the other, but the subjects are more or less the same. Here is a general overview of the main subjects taught in two years of D.Ed.

D.Ed.
1st year
Students learn the following subjects and practical applications in 1st year: Foundation Courses:

  • 1. Child Development.
  • 2. Education and Society.
  • 3. Educational technology.
Pedagogical Courses:

  • 4. Language Education (English/Kannada).
  • 5. Language Education (English).
  • 6. Mathematics Education.
  • 7. Environmental Studies Education.
Practical Courses: :

  • 8. Health and Physical Education.
  • 9. Work Education.
  • 10. Art Education.
  • 11. School Experience Programme (SEP).

D.Ed.
2nd year
Students learn the following subjects and practical applications in 2nd year: Foundation Courses:

  • 1. Psychological Perspectives of Education.
  • 2. Socio-Philosophical Perspectives of Education.
  • 3. Curriculum. Pedagogy and Evaluation.
  • 4. School Leadership and Management.
Pedagogical Courses:(any three; one language is compulsory):

  • 5 Language Education (Kannada/English). /li>

  • 8. Social Studies Education.
  • 9. Science Education.
